According to Cancer Care Ontario, melanoma skin cancer is the seventh most common kind of cancer in Ontario, but it is largely preventable. To help raise awareness of risk factors, Cancer Care Ontario has designed an online assessment tool that determines your risk for various cancers and help lower that risk and can be found at www.mycanceriq.ca/Cancers/Melanoma. After completing the online assessment, if you have any questions or concerns, you should address them with your family doctor or dermatologist. If your doctor or dermatologist feels that you have a lesion that requires excision, you can be referred to our physicians for further assessment and management.
