How does Microneedling work?

Microneedling Treatment

Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally-invasive skin rejuvenating procedure focused on improving skin textural concerns, such as a scar, certain fine lines, acne scarring, stretch marks and enlarges pores. It can be used as part of an anti-aging program to help maintain and improve your skin’s health and overall appearance.

So, how does microneedling work?

Microneedling works by creating precise areas of controlled damage at the surface level of the skin using sterile surgical-grade needles. These microneedles create more than 7 million micro-lesions in the layer of the skin known as the dermis.

We use a strong topical numbing cream to ensure optimal patient comfort during your microneedling treatment.

During the healing process over the next few weeks, the controlled injury causes the skin to react and stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin within the dermis layer of the skin. The body also will send red blood cells, oxygen, and growth factors to repair the affected cells. This helps to improve the skin’s texture, resulting in smoother, more vibrant looking skin.

After the skin has healed, the skin cells have a much stronger cellular structure, the overall cell function at this point has greatly improved, and you have essentially pressed the “reset” button on your skin!

Who will perform my microneedling treatment?

At Concept Medical, our trained and certified Medical Aesthetician will do a thorough consultation with each patient prior to treatment, followed by a detailed skin analysis. She will then perform the microneedling treatment.

How many microneedling treatments will I need?

Microneedling will deliver the optimal results when performed in a series of treatments. Typically, we recommend 4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. After the series is finished, a singular annual maintenance treatment is always recommended.

Is Microneedling painful?

At Concept Medical, our microneedling treatments are not painful. To ensure our patients are comfortable throughout the procedure, a medical-grade topical numbing cream is applied to the skin in office, prior to treatment. While there is still a sensation for the client, it is certainly very tolerable.

What should I avoid post treatment?

Within the first 24 hours post microneedling, it is recommended to use only the hyaluronic acid ampule (given as a take-home product) and water on the skin. Makeup and other skin products should be avoided during this period, after this period, 100% powder mineral makeup is recommended.

Within the first 48 hours after microneedling refrain from exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and tanning beds. Avoid direct sun exposure or the application of sun protection lotion during this period also. After this initial 48 hours, when exposed to sunlight, SPF is required daily.

Avoid touching the treated skin unnecessarily, avoid any Retinoid products for 72 hours after treatment, and always wash your hands or use gloves before touching the treated skin.

When will I see results?

Results are not immediate, because the healing process takes 4-6 weeks following treatment. Most patients notice significant improvement after their second or third treatment, with maximal results after 4-6 sessions. As with all cosmetic treatments, results may vary and risks are possible. Unfortunately, there are a small number of patients who will not achieve the results they are hoping for following the treatment.
According to the statistics of our research company, the effect of Viagra comes within 7-8 hours after intake, and then gradually wanes. Read more about this on Howmed.net.

How much does the micro-needling treatment cost?

At Concept Medical, we always recommend a series of 4 treatments to achieve optimal results. Microneedling costs $450 + tax per treatment or we also offer a package of 4 treatments for $1600.00 + tax.

What are the benefits for my skin after receiving the micro-needling treatment?

The benefits for your skin following microneedling typically include; a significant increase in collagen and elastin production as well as a decrease in the appearance of fine lines, pores, acne scarring, and stretch marks. Microneedling may also help to diminish hyperpigmentation, as well as provide improvement to overall skin texture and tone. However, individual results may vary depending on the targeted skin being treated is.

Will my results be permanent?

While it would be wonderful if the treatment could provide absolute permanent results to the skin, this, unfortunately, is not possible due to the fact that the skin cells are constantly renewing. The results are long-lasting when accompanied by maintenance treatments as well as a customized medical-grade skincare routine.
