• About Dr. James K. Daniel

    Dr. Daniel has an interest in primary care dermatology, surgical skin procedures, and aesthetic medicine. He has been practicing medicine in Ottawa since 1993. He completed his undergraduate science degree (B.Sc.) at the University of Western Ontario; followed by his medical degree (M.D.) from Queen’s University, receiving several academic awards in the process. He has completed a Diploma in Practical Dermatology (D.P.D.) from Cardiff University (U.K.) along with extensive training in laser and aesthetic medicine under the auspices of a number of world-renowned cosmetic physicians and plastic surgeons in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Dr. Daniel has also completed a Master’s of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the Queen’s School of Business. His synergistic interest in fine art (www.jamesdaniel.ca) and aesthetic medicine fosters an eye for natural beauty with meticulous attention to detail. Dr. Daniel has performed over 30,000 injectable treatments including Botox® and soft tissue filler treatments. He is often called upon to train doctors and is a featured speaker at national and international aesthetic medical conferences.

    With an interest in enhancing the safety, efficacy, and innovation of cosmetic procedures Dr. Daniel has also participated in medical research, clinical trials and has served on numerous medical advisory boards. He is one of five Canadian physicians appointed to Cosmetic Research & Training Associates (CRTAi), a panel of cosmetic physicians and surgeons responsible for providing international educational services to other physicians and bringing innovative cosmetic medical techniques into the trained hands of responsible physicians.

    Some of the therapeutic medical treatments offered by Dr. Daniel include Botox® for a chronic migraine, essential blepharospasm, pain syndromes, Bell’s palsy and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). The physician referred biopsy and treatment of certain skin cancers (i.e. basal cell carcinoma), rosacea and other skin treatments are provided, some of which may be eligible for OHIP coverage. With over 25 years of aviation experience, Dr. Daniel is also a Transport Canada Civil Aviation Medical Examiner (C.A.M.E.) for Ottawa, Canada.
