CoolSculpting

Is CoolSculpting permanent?

Yes, CoolSculpting will permanently remove fat cells that are treated during each treatment. Treatments are broken down into cycles, each time a cycle is performed an average of 20-25% of fat is reduced. The amount of fat that is treated depends on the adapter that we use and how much subcutaneous fat the patient has.

Does it hurt?

No, the treatment feels cool and mildly uncomfortable for the first few minutes but will often go numb, similar to when your hands get cold in the winter months.

Are there risks involved when doing CoolSculpting?

Like any cosmetic treatment there is a small percentage of risk, this is why it is so important to have a detailed consultation with a certified CoolSculpting technician. During the consult, they will review your health history and develop a safe and effective treatment plan with you.

Is everyone a good candidate?

No, not everyone is a good candidate for CoolSculpting. There needs to be enough soft, subcutaneous fat in the area treated to be effective. A certified technician will be able to assess the area and decide if there is an adequate amount of fat to treat.

How many treatments will I need?

This varies for every person, bodies come in all shapes and sizes. The certified technician will be able to give you an estimated idea of how many cycles will be needed to achieve optimal results.

How long are the treatments?

The length of time for each treatment will depend on how many cycles are required. Pre-treatment photos are taken and a post-treatment massage of the treated area is given following treatment. This massage helps reduce the fat by 60%, studies show it helps break up the frozen fat cells to allow the body to absorb these faster.

How will I feel after my treatment?

It is normal for people to experience minor swelling and numbness anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks post treatment. Other common occurrences in the days following treatment are itching, tingling, cramping and sensitivity to touch. This is not the case for everyone, many people have little to no discomfort and resume their daily routine immediately following treatment.

How soon after the first treatment can I have my second treatment?

Once a patient has finished their first treatment we want to give the body time to break down the frozen fat cells. Depending on the area, the second treatment can be performed between 6 to 8 weeks later.

How long until I see results?

It takes about 12 to 16 weeks to fully see results from your last treatment. Most people need two rounds of treatments to see significant results. Some people respond faster than others and will see a good reduction by the 6 to 8-week mark. The CoolSculpting technician will be able to give better directions in regards to the different areas we treat.
