Frequently Asked Questions About Ultherapy®
Ultherapy® is a powerful skin-tightening treatment used for the neck, chin, and chest. Ultherapy® uses focused ultrasound energy to go deep beneath the skin to the level at which a surgical facelift occurs. Once delivered, the energy causes your body to lift and tighten the skin, with results occurring gradually over the following months. Please note that results vary. Unique to Ultherapy® is the use of real-time ultrasound imaging, which allows practitioners to see the layers of tissue they are treating, ensuring energy is delivered precisely. Ultherapy® is considered a one-time treatment, although some patients at Concept Medical in Ottawa have chosen to have multiple treatments due to their excellent results.
Immediately after treatment, some patients may notice an instantaneous tightening effect. However, results from Ultherapy® usually become notable after 3-12 months as the body forms new, stronger collagen, resulting in lifted and tighter skin. There is no downtime following Ultherapy®, and you can resume your normal activities immediately. Data from a study in which patients had Ultherapy® treatment on one side of the face and not the other demonstrated an increase in the rate of collagen production. Specifically for collagen Types I and III, the rate of collagen production on the Ultherapy®-treated side was 42% higher on average compared to the untreated side. However, it’s important to remember that individual results may vary.

Treatment ranges from 1-2 hours depending on the areas treated.
